"The earliest steps of Swindon shoegaze bunch Rain were draped in a heavy cloak. Not even a year ago they staked their claim to the top of the pile with appropriately titled debut track ‘Slur’ and its accompanying first EP ’Symphony Pains’. As they slowly polished up and perfected their sound, this summer’s ‘Solis’ single highlighted their ability to find bright new corners amongst the gloom.
New track ‘Lethargy’ is the culmination of that craft. Their strongest statement to date, it finds wave after wave of fuzz vaporised - in its place, a dedication to melody that primes Rain for bigger things than ever before. It’s a world away from the slackened tendencies of its namesake; tight as a screw and brimming with the kind of confidence only gleaned from Rain’s steely determination to forge their own path."
